Are your rentals guided or unguided?
All of our rentals are unguided. We let you choose your own adventure, ride at your own pace, and explore on your own schedule. We provide maps, GPS, trail recommendations, and area descriptions based on your ability level and current conditions.
Do I need prior experience to rent?
It depends on the machine. We offer options for beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders. Some high-performance machines require prior riding experience. Our staff will help match you with the right equipment.
Where are you located?
We operate seasonally from two locations:
- Winter: Dowd Park Business Center, 41199 Highway 6, Avon, CO 81620
- Summer: 210 Spring Creek Rd C2, Gypsum, CO 81637
How far in advance should I book?
We highly recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends, holidays, and peak seasons. Same-day rentals may be available but are not guaranteed.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes! Dogs are welcome on our unguided adventures, as long as they can be transported safely and comfortably.
Snowmobiles
What types of snowmobiles do you offer?
We offer two styles:
- Touring snowmobiles: 2-passenger machines ideal for groomed trails, long rides, frozen lakes, and trips to old mining towns.
- Performance snowmobiles: High-performance turbo and non-turbo machines for experienced riders only. These are 1-passenger machines designed for backcountry riding.
Do I need experience to rent a performance snowmobile?
Yes. Performance machines require prior backcountry riding experience. Turbo snowmobiles are for very experienced riders only.
Are helmets and safety gear included?
Yes, helmets are provided with snowmobile rentals. Additional gear may be available—please ask when booking.
UTV / ATV / RZRs
Where can I ride UTVs and ATVs?
Our unguided UTV and ATV rentals allow you to explore high-altitude lakes, mountain trails, old mining towns, and high-desert terrain throughout the Rocky Mountains.
How many passengers can your side-by-sides hold?
We offer 2-, 4-, and 6-passenger side-by-side UTVs, making them perfect for families and groups.
Are UTVs easier than Jeeps or ATVs?
Yes. UTVs offer incredible suspension and stability, allowing you to travel faster and more comfortably over rough terrain than traditional Jeeps or ATVs.
Dirt Bikes
Do you offer dirt bikes for beginners and kids?
Absolutely. We have 20+ dirt bikes, including kids’ bikes with training wheels, automatic transmissions, beginner bikes, intermediate bikes, trail bikes, track bikes, and street-legal options.
Can I take dirt bikes off-road?
Yes. Our dirt bikes are perfect for trails, tracks, and off-grid riding depending on the bike selected.
Do I need a motorcycle license?
A license is required for street-legal bikes. Off-road bikes do not require a license.
Snow Bikes (Timbersled)
What is a snow bike?
A snow bike (timbersled) is a dirt bike converted to ride on snow. They are ideal for experienced dirt bike riders looking to explore the backcountry in winter.
Are snow bikes beginner-friendly?
Snow bikes have an easy learning curve, but we recommend prior dirt bike experience for the best and safest experience.
Safety & Requirements
What is the minimum age to rent?
Age requirements vary by machine. Please contact us for specific age limits and youth options.
Do you provide maps and GPS?
Yes. We provide maps, GPS options, trail recommendations, and riding area descriptions based on your skill level and current conditions.
What should I bring?
We recommend weather-appropriate clothing, gloves, sunglasses or goggles, sunscreen, snacks, water, and a valid ID. Specific gear recommendations vary by season.
